NOAA NCCOS Laboratory Transition

September 18, 2017

UPDATE 9/23: Transition on temporary hold due to an award protest.

NOAA has officially awarded CSS the Scientific and Technical Mission Support Contract supporting the National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS) laboratories in Charleston, Oxford, Beaufort, and Kasitsna Bay, and supporting NCCOS Headquarters in Silver Spring. Our transition task begins on September 19th and will run for a period of four weeks during which we will implement our transition schedule of events. Formal contract performance will begin on October 19th.

We are excited for the opportunity to welcome new colleagues into CSS. We also look forward to meeting with all incumbent contractor employees. To aid in communication we ask all incumbents to register in our iCIMS portal and to provide personal contact information and a resume. Please follow this link:

Members of the transition team will welcome incumbent employees at one of the meet and greet sessions during the first week of the transition. These sessions are informal, so please stop in at any point in the schedule. Our team will address transition activities, collect questions, and schedule one-on-one sessions.

Charleston Meet and Greet
Wednesday (Sept. 20) and Thursday (Sept. 21) 4:30 – 6:30pm each day
Holiday Inn Riverview, 301 Savannah Hwy, Charleston SC 29407

Beaufort Meet and Greet
Wednesday (Sept. 20) and Thursday (Sept. 21) 4:30 – 6:30pm each day
Inlet Inn, 601 Front Street, Beaufort NC 28516

Oxford Meet and Greet
Thursday (Sept 21) 4:30 – 6:30pm
Robert Morris Inn, 314 North Morris Street, Oxford MD 21654

The transition team will reach out directly to incumbents who cannot attend a meet and greet session, especially anyone located in Kasitsna Bay and Silver Spring. We will also distribute a FAQ based on the questions collected at the meet and greet sessions.

Formal Orientation Meetings will be held in the fourth week of transition where CSS will present information about the company, our culture, benefits, and management approach.

We understand that transitions are a stressful time for incumbents, therefore we have built into our plan many opportunities to ask questions and address concerns either in groups or one-on-one. Anyone with questions about the information above may call Jane Koska at 703-877-3392.
