Dynamac Employees recognized by The American Board of Toxicology

Congratulations to Dr. Michael Viana and Dr. Michael Wyde of Dynamac's RTP office! The American Board of Toxicology (DBAT) recently awarded Diplomat Status to Drs. Viana and Wyde on November 10, 2004. This designation, which confers internationally recognized expert status, is awarded to individuals who have met the rigorous requirements in general toxicology. Board certification demonstrates a broad expertise in toxicology, provides an advantage in career development, and enhances credibility in toxicological consulting and legal testimony.

Dr. Michael Viana is a graduate of Duke University and holds a B.S. in Chemistry (with specialization in biological chemistry). Dr. Viana has served as a research technician at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the USEPA (as a contract employee), and Duke University Medical Center. In 1995, he attended graduate school to advance his education at North Carolina State University, and in 2000, earned his Ph.D. in Toxicology. His vitae includes a Post-Doctoral Fellowship with the USEPA's Immunotoxicology Branch, Experimental Toxicology Division, prior to joining the our RTP office as a Staff Toxicologist.

Dr. Michael Wyde received a B.S. in Biochemistry in 1994 from North Carolina State University. In 2000, Dr. Wyde earned his Ph.D. in Toxicology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His past experience includes assignments with the CIIT Centers for Health Research (formerly the Chemical Industry Institute of Toxicology), investigating alternative mechanisms of reproductive developmental toxicology, and the National Toxicology Program (NTP) as a Research Fellow Trainee in 2003. At NTP, Dr. Wyde served as a Study Scientist/Director for chemicals in the NTP testing program, and was a member of several toxicological faculty committees.
