Emergency Preparedness & Response

We bring 40 years of experience working with federal agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Homeland Security, and Federal Emergency Management Agency on diverse environmental disaster preparedness and response efforts. CSS provides a broad range of services and solutions to address unique facility operations, maintenance and repair requirements. Human Health Risk Assessment

CSS offers the full range of environmental toxicology services for Human Health Risk Assessment (HHRA) – including hazard identification, toxicology assessment, exposure assessment, and risk characterization – to evaluate concerns to human health and the environment.  We conduct and evaluate studies on the movement, metabolism, degradation, and fate of a broad range of chemicals including pesticides, herbicides, and other agricultural and industrial chemicals, as well as those produced from naturally occurring sources such as harmful algal blooms.

IT Services

CSS provides custom, turn-key Information Technology solutions that meet both the simple and critical needs of an evolving organization. Satellite Data Applications

Earth observations by satellite provide critical data for monitoring and measuring changes to in our planet’s aquatic, terrestrial, and climatic environments, as well as man-made infrastructure and focal points. Sifting through these data, and understanding their power is essential to identifying vulnerabilities and developing forward-thinking solutions to address end-user needs.

Decontamination Field Tests for EPA

CSS staff helped design, plan for, and implement field tests of decontamination technologies and methods using MB for EPA’s Consequence Management Advisory Division.

CSS operates and maintains EPA mobile analytical units that travel to support multi-agency security efforts during high profile events that draw large crowds. 

Emergency Response Planning for New York City

CSS’ staff worked EPA Consequence Management Advisory Division (CMAD) to develop an integrated framework for responding if a biological agent was released over a wide area in New York City.
